ACYOWorld Diocesan Forum was held in Córdoba

With the blessing of His Holiness Garegin II, Catholicos of All Armenians and under the leadership of His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Primate of the Armenian Church World Youth Union and ahead to the invitation of the Dioceses of the Armenian Church of South America, the visit of Very Reverend Archimandrite Tovma Khachatryan, ACYOWorld Spiritual Rector, Director of the Central Office to ACYOWorld Region continues.

At present, Father Tovma is in Argentina, where it is envisaged to hold forums in three cities: Rosario, Córdoba and Buenos Aires.

On May 10, ACYOWorld Diocesan Forum was held in Rosario city.

On May 12, Holy Father arrived in Córdoba from Rosario, accompanied by Very Reverend Archimandrite Aren Shahenian, Spiritual servant of the Armenian Diocese of Argentina.

On the same day, ACYOWorld Diocesan Forum was held in the Bakirjian Hall of Córdoba with the participation of young people of the local Armenian community.

ACYOWorld Spiritual Rector presented ACYOWorld mission, regional structure, spiritual-youth programs and information platforms to the participants of the Forum in the format of slides and video clips prepared by the Office. ACYOWorld Regional and Diocesan Forums that have already taken place by now in 2022 were presented in a separate video.

Then, with the help of a questionnaire compiled in advance, young people tried to reveal issues related to the preservation of the Armenian identity, the preservation of the faith, national-spiritual identity and to find ways to solve them. Professionalizing Christian youth work was emphasized and the needs assessment was done.

Certificates and crosses brought from the Mother See were presented to the participants of the Forum.

In Córdoba, ACYOWorld Spiritual Rector met Father Nahapet Karapetian, Spiritual pastor of the local Saint Gevorg chuch, as well as Lilia Balian-Merdinian, the President of the local Armenian Center and the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Armenia in Córdoba Juan Carlo Merdinian.

Father Tovma together with Mrs. Lilia Balian-Merdinian visited St. Sahag and St. Mesrop School of Córdoba, conveying the blessings of His Holiness Patriarch and Holy Etchmiadzin to the pupils of the school. Holy Father thanked the school management for the efforts put into the work of getting future ACYOWorld members from pupils.

Holy Father was also hosted at the branch of the Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU) and at “Andranik” Club of the Armenian Gymnastics Union (AGU).

For ACYOWorld 2022 is proclaimed the year of Regional Forums and Pan-Armenian pilgrimage. ACYOWorld holds Regional and Diocesan Forums in Armenia and the Diaspora. ACYOWorld Russia and CIS (Kislovodsk), ACYOWorld Europe (Brussels, Prague), ACYOWorld Middle East and Africa (Cairo) Regional Forums, ACYOWorld Diocesan Forum in Brazil (São Paulo) have taken place by now.
