The topic of the June 8 session of the “Zoravor” Youth Union of the Zoravor Holy Mother of God Church was cinema. Following the Divine Liturgy, the youth union, within the framework of the “We Are the Church” program, hosted actress Arevik Yayloyan, artistic director and head stage director of the “Arev” Theater under the “Children of the Sun” NGO, in the parish hall.

The lecture, titled “We in Art, Art in Us: The Art of Cinema”, was preceded by the youth watching three films suggested by the speaker: The Truman Show (1998), 12 Angry Men (1956), and Hector and the Search for Happiness (2014).

The meeting included a Q&A session. Speaking on the spiritual subtexts of the films, Arevik Yayloyan noted: “These films do not directly speak about Christian values or reference the Bible, yet they are inherently connected to the Christian way of life and values—everything the Lord has taught us and expects us to carry out as free individuals in our lives. These films call us to live the Christian life consciously.”
