On April 19, a cross made of burning torches was once again formed on the stone carpet of Republic Square in Yerevan, symbolizing the Glorious Resurrection of Christ. The “Good News of the Resurrection” torchlight procession was held for the 11th time, conveying the message of the Holy Resurrection to the people.
The procession began at the Saint Sargis Cathedral, the seat of the Araratian Pontifical Diocese. (Following the Easter Eve Divine Liturgy, the participants, led by the Diocese’s Youth Spiritual Coordinator, Rev. Fr. Petros Malayan, received the blessing of the Patriarchal Delegate of the Diocese, His Eminence Archbishop․)
The initiative was organized by members of the ACYO unions, under the leadership of their spiritual shepherd, Rev. Fr. Petros Malayan.
Participants in the torchlight procession included students of the National Leadership Institute, members of various youth organizations, student councils, youth from the Diocese of the Armenians of Southern Russia, scouts, and junior members of the Yerkrapah Volunteer Union. Along the way, all those who wished to join were welcomed to participate.
