The VIII Meeting of the Chairmen of the ACYO World was held

With the blessing of His Holiness Garegin II, Catholicos of All Armenians the Armenian Church World Youth Union (ACYOWorld) continues to implement its pan-diocesan, pan-Armenian and regional programs.

On November 15 of this year, the VIII ACYO Chairmen’s Meeting was held online, with the participation of about 80 ACYO clergy and lay leaders from the Armenian Patriarchates of Constantinople and Jerusalem, as well as dioceses in Armenia and the Diaspora. The meeting was chaired by the spiritual leader of ACYO, His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Terteryan. Տեր Հովնան Արքեպիսկոպոս Տերտերյանը․

The agenda included Regional Forums, ACYO World-Diocese cooperation, and preparations for the Pan-Armenian pilgrimage in 2025 under the title “The Christian Family, the Anchor of Armenian Identity” dedicated to the 25th anniversary of ACYO World.
His Eminence directed that all dioceses submit their suggestions/proposals regarding the pilgrimage, which, after collating, will be included in the program.

ACYO World Spiritual Inspector, Director of the Central Office, Most Reverend Tovma Khachatryan presented the regions where Regional Forums are planned to be held in the near future. The importance of ensuring cooperation and constant communication between the ACYO World office and the dioceses, as well as the exchange of programs and experience, was emphasized.

The Meeting of Chairpersons is an advisory body, which is attended by clergymen and laypersons responsible for youth affairs of the dioceses. At the invitation of the Central Office it is convened with periodicity of once every one or two years, as well as when needed. Details of the programs that took place and the ones planned, organizational issues of Pan-Armenian events, motto of the events of the year, issues regarding regional meetings, changes to ACYOWorld Guidelines and other issues are discussed on the agenda. Each diocese has one vote at the Meeting of Chairpersons.
