On September 21, the day of Armenia's Independence, with the blessing of Bishop Gevorg Saroyan, Primate of the Masis Diocese, the diocesan youth unions made a pilgrimage to the sacred site of Spitak Monastery in Lanjanist.
Around 120 participants walked from the outskirts of Lanjanist village to the monastery, where they attended the Divine Liturgy. For the first time in centuries, a liturgy was celebrated in the church uncovered during excavations. After the liturgy, the youth got acquainted with and participated in the ongoing excavation work at the monastery. The pilgrimage also included a discussion on the topic “The Role of the Church in the Lives of Young People.”
