On September 18, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, received the young volunteers involved in the organizational work for the Holy Myron Blessing and the re-consecration ceremonies of the Mother Cathedral at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. They were accompanied by Archimandrite Father Tovma Khachatryan, the spiritual supervisor and director of the central office of the Armenian Church՛s Youth Organization.
Around 120 young people have been recruited for volunteer work from the "Pan-Armenian Volunteer Union" NGO, ACYOWorld, and various church-loving youth unions from different dioceses in Armenia.
At the meeting, His Grace Archbishop Vazgen Mirzakhanian, Chairman of the Protocol Committee for organizing the re-consecration of the Mother Cathedral, the Holy Myron Blessing, and related events, sought His Holiness’s blessing and provided information about the tasks that the youth would carry out during the sacred ceremonies.
Then, the Catholicos of All Armenians offered his paternal blessings to the young Armenians, highly appreciating their willingness to volunteer in organizing these historic events for the Armenian people and the Church. In this regard, the Catholicos emphasized the role of young people in the Church’s mission, urging them to fulfill their duties with a high level of awareness and a great sense of responsibility during the ceremonies of the Holy Myron Blessing and the re-consecration of the Mother Cathedral of Holy Etchmiadzin.
His Holiness also spoke with the volunteers about the importance of nurturing a spiritual life, ecclesiastical service, the need to live a life of prayer, and the significance of adhering to the national and spiritual values established by our holy fathers.
