St. Mariam Astvatsatsin Church in Arevshat

St. Mariam Astvatsatsin Church is located in Arevshat village of Ararat region. It was consecrated on August 23, 2006, on the Feast of the Transfiguration of Jesus Christ, during the enthronement of Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II by His Grace Archbishop Navasard Kchoyan, Vicar of the Araratian Patriarchal Diocese.

The church was built on the ruins of the former church of the same name. The old basilica church of the village was built in the 1890s, then rebuilt and consecrated in 1903. There are women's and youth unions, dance and painting clubs in the church.

According to the young people of the church, the church provides an opportunity to deepen spiritual knowledge and make new friends. The priest of the church is Father Hovsep Sargsyan.

The ACYOWorld Central Office launches the "My Church, My Community" program, within the framework of which the ACYO Diocesan youth present the churches of their community and their history.

The “My Church, my community” program joins to the series of initiatives dedicated to the 20-th anniversary of the enthronement and activities of His Holiness Karekin II. Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians․

Within the framework of this initiative, the diocesan young members of ACYO, through video recordings, present churches of their communities and their history.
