ACYOWorld Spiritual Rector visited national centers in Montevideo

With the blessing of His Holiness Garegin II, Catholicos of All Armenians and under the leadership of His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Primate of the Armenian Church World Youth Union and within the framework of ACYOWorld Diocesan Forums that were held at the invitation of the Dioceses of the Armenian Church of South America, Very Reverend Archimandrite Tovma Khachatryan, ACYOWorld Spiritual Rector and Director of the Central Office, who is in Uruguay on a working visit, gave an interview to "Arax" radio station operating in Montevideo. In a conversation with Diego Karamanukian, the director of the radio station, Holy Father touched upon ACYOWorld activity, the Regional and Diocesan Forums, as well as Pan-Armenian pilgrimage which will take place on July 6-10 of this year.

Father Tovma also visited "Armenia" square located on one of Montevideo's good-looking beaches, where an Armenian cross-stone and an eagle sculpture dedicated to Armenia are installed.

"Mateos Sarkisian" and "Genocide of the Armenian people" squares were not left out of the visit either. A prayer was offered here in memory of the victims of the genocide.

Holy Father accompanied by Mr. Karamanukian also visited "Hayastan" state school of Montevideo, opened as a result of the passing of the Armenian Genocide bill in Uruguay.

The visit of ACYOWorld Spiritual Rector to Uruguay ended by once again visiting St. Nerses Shnorhali Cathedral, as well as Nersesian National College, which is under the auspices of the Armenian Diocese of Uruguay, AGBU "Alex Manoogian-Nubarian College" and ARF "Vramyan Club".
