The “Let’s Overcome the Pandemic Together” initiative is implemented by the “Pan-Armenian Youth Union” (PYU) educational and cultural youth non-governmental organization, co-financed by the Armenian Inter-Church Round Table Foundation of the World Council of Churches and ACYOWorld Central Office.
Citizens are being distributed individually packaged, multi-layered, reusable respiratory masks in accordance with medical standards. Nowadays, people are especially in need of spiritual and psychological support, but in conditions of a closed face it is impossible to express any empathetic emotions, therefore, a drawing of the Mother Cathedral of Holy Etchmiadzin was depicted on the masks as a symbol of hope and optimism.
Recently, the Holy Cross of the central dome of the Mother Cathedral of Holy Etchmiadzin was consecrated by the Catholicos of All Armenians, and this year is apparently marked in the lives of Armenian Christians as the Year of the Mother Cathedral of Holy Etchmiadzin, which gives even more spiritual strength and support to people in difficulty during the pandemic.
As part of the initiative, it is planned to distribute 3,000 masks to citizens.
The project was implemented in the administrative districts of Davitashen and Noragavit, and is currently underway.
